More Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
Thomas More Classical School is a Hillsdale College Candidate Member School opening K-6 in 2026-2027 as a Christian classical school, in the pursuit of wisdom and virtue.

Our classrooms are led by teachers, not devices. Instruction is direct, discussion-rich, and anchored in excellent books that spark wonder and shape understanding.

Students study an intentionally structured curriculum of integrated studies within the liberal arts and sciences tradition, including the fine arts and physical education.

We foster an environment that is joyful, well-ordered, and rooted in the Golden Rule. Here, students are called to high moral standards; they pursue eternal virtues, not the shifting sands of cultural values.

Our goal is not simply knowledge, but wisdom. Students grow in moral, intellectual, and civic virtue so that they can pursue their unique calling and live as free and flourishing Alaskans.
Thomas More Classical School exists to serve families who believe that education should shape more than intellect or be purely utilitarian in its ends. We are committed to forming hearts and training minds through a model that honors both the Christian faith and the classical tradition.
Our founders envisioned a school where truth is not relative, excellence is expected, and the soul is ordered alongside the mind. In a culture that often rushes past meaning, TMCS offers something rooted and lasting, a school where the frontier spirit meets timeless Truth for generations to come.
Thomas More Classical School receives startup counsel and training from the Hillsdale College K–12 Education Office after being accepted through a competitive application process. TMCS plans to license Hillsdale’s classical curriculum for families in Anchorage.
Hillsdale College was founded to provide the kind of sound learning necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty. For over 175 years, it has offered an outstanding liberal arts education for undergraduate students. Restoring excellence to American K–12 education is a natural extension of the College’s mission, and Hillsdale has been helping K–12 schools for over three decades.
Hillsdale teaches K–12 schools to provide an education that is both classical and American in its orientation; one that is rooted in the liberal arts and sciences, offers a firm grounding in civic virtue, and cultivates moral character.
